Quotes to Live By – Mae West

by Lianne Walker

This is a Quote from Mae West, the actress, singer, playwright and Hollywood sex symbol who was born in 1893 in Brooklyn. She died in 1980 and she had a career that spanned seven decades.

Mae West was not afraid to be controversial, to speak her mind and stand up for what she thought was right. She worked and lived at a time when women’s rights were in their infancy; her plays and written work were risque for the time but she fought censorship and the right to free speech, in fact was jailed for 10 days for her Broadway production “Sex’ in 1927.

Mae was a true original and today’s quote sums up her view on life.

Have a great day

Until next time!
